There is nothing quite like the smell of cinnamon and apples baking in the oven on a crisp autumn morning. These rolls combine two of my favorite desserts into one, making them a hit with my family every single time.

My best tip for success is to make sure your butter is softened before you start the dough. It makes the mixing process so much easier and helps the rolls stay light and fluffy.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar mixed with a splash of milk for glaze

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Mix the warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar in a bowl and let it sit for five minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

Combine the flour, salt, remaining sugar, egg, and butter with the yeast mixture to form a soft dough.

  3. 3

Knead the dough on a floured surface for five minutes and let it rise in a warm spot for one hour.

  4. 4

Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread the diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon across the surface.

  5. 5

Roll the dough up tightly and cut into even slices, then place them into a greased baking pan.

  6. 6

Let the rolls rise for another thirty minutes before baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for twenty minutes.

  7. 7

Drizzle the simple glaze over the top while they are still warm.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. You can also warm them up in the microwave for ten seconds to get that fresh out of the oven texture again.
