There is nothing quite like a creamy bowl of pasta after a long day. I love this recipe because you do not have to boil a separate pot of water or drain anything, which saves so much time in the kitchen.

My biggest tip for success is to keep an eye on your heat. If you cook it too high, the liquid will evaporate before the noodles are soft, so keep it at a gentle simmer while the pasta soaks up all that goodness.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried fettuccine or linguine
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

👩‍🍳Instructions

  1. 1

Place the dry pasta, broth, milk, minced garlic, butter, salt, and pepper into a large pot or deep skillet.

  2. 2

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium high heat.

  3. 3

Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 to 12 minutes, stirring every few minutes to make sure the pasta does not stick to the bottom.

  4. 4

Once the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened, remove the pot from the heat.

  5. 5

Stir in the parmesan cheese until it is melted and creamy.

  6. 6

Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

💡 Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. When you reheat it, add a splash of milk or water to help the sauce become creamy again since the pasta will soak up the liquid while sitting.
