There is nothing quite like a warm bowl of creamy pasta to make a house feel like a home. This turkey tetrazzini is a family favorite in my kitchen because it is so satisfying and pulls together simple ingredients into something truly special.

I love using fresh herbs in this bake to give it a bright flavor that balances the richness of the cream and cheese. If you want a little extra crunch, try topping the dish with some toasted breadcrumbs right before you pop it into the oven.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti, broken in half
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups cooked turkey, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

👩‍🍳Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

  2. 2

Cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted water according to the package directions, then drain well.

  3. 3

Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms and onions until they are soft.

  4. 4

Stir the flour into the skillet and cook for one minute before slowly whisking in the chicken broth and heavy cream.

  5. 5

Let the sauce simmer until it thickens, then stir in the turkey, parmesan cheese, thyme, salt, and pepper.

  6. 6

Combine the cooked pasta with the turkey sauce and pour everything into your prepared baking dish.

  7. 7

Top the dish with the mozzarella cheese and bake for 20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.

  8. 8

Let it rest for five minutes before serving so the sauce can settle.

💡 Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. If the pasta absorbs too much liquid while stored, add a tiny splash of broth when reheating to keep it nice and creamy.
