We have all been there. It is five o'clock and the chicken is still a solid block of ice in the freezer. Do not worry because the air fryer is a total lifesaver for busy weeknights like this. You can cook the breasts straight from frozen and they still turn out surprisingly tender.

My biggest tip is to brush the sauce on during the last few minutes of cooking. This keeps the glaze from burning while the chicken finishes cooking all the way through. It is a simple trick that makes a world of difference for the final texture.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 2 frozen chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup your favorite barbecue sauce

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Preheat your air fryer to 370 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. 2

Brush the frozen chicken breasts with olive oil, then sprinkle the garlic powder and salt over both sides.

  3. 3

Place the chicken in the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes.

  4. 4

Flip the chicken breasts over and cook for another 8 to 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

  5. 5

Brush the barbecue sauce over the top of the chicken and cook for 2 more minutes to set the glaze.

  6. 6

Remove from the air fryer and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Let the chicken rest on a plate for a few minutes before cutting so the juices stay inside. You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. This chicken is wonderful sliced over a fresh garden salad or served with steamed vegetables.
