Easy Ground Beef Stir Fry
A budget friendly and flavorful stir fry that comes together quickly for a perfect weeknight dinner.
recipesbynani.comThis ground beef stir fry is one of my favorite ways to get a nutritious meal on the table without breaking the bank. By using ground beef instead of expensive steak, you still get all those delicious savory flavors while keeping things simple and affordable.
It is also a fantastic way to clear out your fridge. If you have some vegetables that need to be used up, just toss them into the pan. My quick tip is to chop your veggies while the beef is browning to keep the total cooking time under thirty minutes.
🧺 Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked white rice for serving
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and ginger to create your stir fry sauce.
- 2
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium high heat.
- 3
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until it is browned, breaking it up into small chunks with a wooden spoon as it cooks.
- 4
Add the broccoli, bell pepper, carrots, and onion to the pan with the beef.
- 5
Continue to stir fry for about 5 to 7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still have a nice crunch.
- 6
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for one more minute until fragrant.
- 7
Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetable mixture and toss well to coat everything evenly.
- 8
Let it simmer for two minutes so the sauce thickens slightly, then serve immediately over a bowl of warm rice.
💡 Tips
Serve this dish over fluffy white rice or cauliflower rice if you want something lighter. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. It tastes even better the next day once the flavors have had time to meld together.
