There is nothing quite like coming home to the smell of simmering meatballs. This recipe is a favorite in my kitchen because you can skip the frying pan entirely and let the slow cooker do all the heavy lifting for you.

My best tip is to handle the meat as little as possible when you are mixing it. This keeps the meatballs light and juicy instead of dense and tough. It is the perfect way to get a hearty dinner on the table without standing over the stove.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 24 ounces of your favorite marinara sauce

👩‍🍳Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan, egg, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

  2. 2

Roll the mixture into golf ball sized rounds and place them into your slow cooker.

  3. 3

Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs so they are well covered.

  4. 4

Cover and cook on high for 2 hours until the meatballs are cooked through and tender.

  5. 5

Give them a gentle stir before serving.

💡 Tips

Serve these over a pile of hot spaghetti or tuck them into sub rolls with extra cheese. You can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
