This healthy banana bread is a total staple in my kitchen when I have a few spotted bananas sitting on the counter. It is one of those simple recipes that tastes like a cozy hug and uses basic ingredients you likely already have in your pantry.

My favorite way to keep it healthy is to use just a touch of honey or maple syrup instead of heaps of white sugar. If you want a little crunch, feel free to toss in a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans right before you pour the batter into the pan.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil or butter
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a standard loaf pan.

  2. 2

In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas well with a fork until they are smooth.

  3. 3

Stir in the melted oil, honey, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  4. 4

Sprinkle the baking soda, salt, and cinnamon over the wet mixture and stir them in.

  5. 5

Gently fold in the flour until just combined, being careful not to overmix the batter.

  6. 6

Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth out the top.

  7. 7

Bake for about 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

Let the bread cool in the pan for ten minutes before moving it to a wire rack to cool completely.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store your leftover banana bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. It also freezes wonderfully if you wrap slices individually in plastic wrap for a quick grab and go breakfast later on.
