If you love a good cheesesteak but want something faster for a busy weeknight, this is the perfect meal for your family. It has all the savory beef, sautéed peppers, and melted cheese you crave but served up in a fun, loose style that everyone enjoys.

My favorite part about this dish is how quickly it comes together in just one pan. I recommend using a good quality hoagie roll so it holds up well to all that delicious, cheesy sauce without falling apart.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large yellow onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups provolone cheese, shredded
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 to 6 hoagie rolls

👩‍🍳Instructions

  1. 1

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.

  2. 2

Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until it is browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon as you go.

  3. 3

Add the diced onion and bell pepper to the beef and cook for about 5 minutes until the vegetables are soft.

  4. 4

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until it smells fragrant.

  5. 5

Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then stir in the softened cream cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.

  6. 6

Fold in the shredded provolone cheese and stir until it is completely melted and gooey.

  7. 7

Season the mixture with salt and pepper to your liking.

  8. 8

Spoon the beef mixture generously into the hoagie rolls and serve warm.

💡 Tips

These are best served immediately while the cheese is nice and melty. If you have leftovers, store the meat mixture in an airtight container in the fridge and toast fresh rolls when you are ready to reheat.
