Welcome to my kitchen. These butterscotch blondies are a favorite around here because they are so easy to whip up in just one bowl. They have a deep brown sugar flavor and a soft, fudgy texture that everyone loves.

I like to use a good quality sea salt for the top to really bring out the sweetness of the butterscotch. Make sure you do not overbake them, as they will keep firming up as they cool in the pan.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and grease an 8 inch square baking pan with butter or cooking spray.

  2. 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk the melted butter and brown sugar together until the mixture is smooth.

  3. 3

Add the egg and vanilla extract, then whisk well until the batter looks shiny and combined.

  4. 4

Gently stir in the flour and salt with a spatula until you no longer see any dry streaks.

  5. 5

Fold in the butterscotch chips until they are evenly spread through the thick batter.

  6. 6

Spread the mixture into your prepared pan and smooth out the top with your spatula.

  7. 7

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned and the center is set.

  8. 8

Sprinkle the flaky sea salt over the top immediately after taking them out of the oven.

  9. 9

Let the blondies cool completely in the pan before you cut them into squares.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days. You can also wrap them tightly and freeze them for up to two months if you want to save some for later.
