This unique recipe brings together the chewy texture of traditional olive oil focaccia and the cozy flavors of maple pecan sticky buns. It is a wonderful treat for brunch or a special weekend breakfast that always makes the kitchen smell incredible.

My biggest tip for this bread is to make sure your dough has enough time to rise properly. A nice, long rise in the fridge helps the flavor develop beautifully and gives you that perfect airy texture we all love.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt

👩‍🍳Instructions

  1. 1

Combine the flour, yeast, salt, and warm water in a large bowl. Stir until a sticky dough forms.

  2. 2

Drizzle two tablespoons of olive oil over the dough and cover. Let it rise in a warm spot for about two hours until it has doubled in size.

  3. 3

Grease a baking pan with the remaining olive oil and transfer the dough into it, stretching it gently to fit the edges.

  4. 4

Press your fingers into the dough to create signature dimples across the surface.

  5. 5

Mix the brown sugar, melted butter, and pecans in a small bowl. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the dough.

  6. 6

Drizzle the maple syrup over the pecans and sprinkle with the flaky sea salt.

  7. 7

Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the topping is bubbly.

  8. 8

Let the focaccia cool in the pan for ten minutes before slicing and serving.

💡 Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. If you want to warm it up, pop a slice in the oven for a few minutes to bring back that crispy texture.
