There is nothing quite like a warm, melty snack to brighten up the afternoon. These crispy cheese bites have become a favorite in our house because they get perfectly golden in the air fryer without any extra fuss.

I love making these when we have friends over or just when the kids want something fun to munch on. They are simple to prepare and disappear from the plate almost as soon as they are ready.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese block cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Cooking spray

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Place the flour in a small bowl, the beaten eggs in a second bowl, and the panko breadcrumbs mixed with oregano and garlic powder in a third bowl.

  2. 2

Dip each cheese cube into the flour to coat, then dip into the egg, and finally roll in the panko mixture until fully covered.

  3. 3

Repeat the process for a second coating if you like them extra crispy.

  4. 4

Arrange the cheese cubes in your air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not touch.

  5. 5

Lightly spray the tops of the cheese bites with cooking spray.

  6. 6

Air fry at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 to 7 minutes until the outside is golden brown and the cheese starts to soften.

  7. 7

Remove carefully and let them sit for a minute before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

These bites are best served hot while the center is still melty and gooey. If you have leftovers, keep them in an airtight container in the fridge and pop them back in the air fryer for a couple of minutes to crisp them up again.
