There is something so satisfying about having a log of cookie dough ready in the fridge. These cookies are wonderfully buttery and sweet, making them a hit with both kids and adults.

I love adding plenty of colorful sprinkles to make them pop. They are the perfect little treat to keep on hand when you need something sweet without a lot of fuss.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup colorful rainbow sprinkles

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Beat the softened butter and sugar in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.

  2. 2

    Stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. 3

Add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough just comes together.

  4. 4

Gently fold in the sprinkles so they are evenly distributed.

  5. 5

Divide the dough in half and roll each piece into a log shape about two inches wide using plastic wrap.

  6. 6

Chill the logs in the refrigerator for at least one hour until they are firm.

  7. 7

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  8. 8

Slice the dough into half inch thick rounds and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet.

  9. 9

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are just barely golden.

  10. 10

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for five minutes before moving them to a wire rack.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. You can also keep the wrapped dough logs in the freezer for up to three months and slice them directly from frozen when you want a fresh cookie.
