There is something so special about the combination of crispy bacon, crunchy lettuce, and juicy tomatoes. When you mix those classic sandwich ingredients with pasta and a creamy dressing, you get the perfect dish for summer picnics or a quick family dinner.

My biggest tip for this recipe is to wait until just before serving to add the lettuce. This keeps it nice and crisp so the salad stays fresh and crunchy for everyone to enjoy.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1 pound rotini pasta
  • 8 slices thick cut bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to the package directions until al dente.

  2. 2

Drain the pasta and rinse it under cold water to stop the cooking process then set it aside to drain completely.

  3. 3

In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.

  4. 4

In a large serving bowl, combine the cooled pasta, crispy bacon, and halved cherry tomatoes.

  5. 5

Pour the dressing over the pasta mixture and toss gently until everything is evenly coated.

  6. 6

Fold in the chopped romaine lettuce right before you are ready to serve the salad.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. If you plan on keeping it longer, leave the lettuce out and stir it in fresh right before you eat. This salad also pairs wonderfully with grilled chicken if you want to add extra protein.
