Simple Cowboy Mushrooms
These tender mushrooms are cooked in a rich, garlicky herb butter for a side dish that is impossible to resist.
recipesbynani.comIf you are looking for a simple way to dress up your dinner, these cowboy mushrooms are the perfect solution. They are so easy to make with just two main ingredients, yet they bring a big punch of flavor to the table that usually steals the show.
I love serving these alongside a juicy steak or some roasted chicken. The garlic and herb butter makes everything taste better, and you can even spoon the extra butter over some creamy mashed potatoes for a real treat.
🧺 Ingredients
- 16 ounces small button mushrooms, washed and stems trimmed
- 1/2 cup cowboy butter
👩🍳Instructions
- 1
Place a large skillet on the stove over medium heat.
- 2
Add the cowboy butter to the skillet and let it melt completely.
- 3
Add the mushrooms to the butter and stir well so every piece is coated.
- 4
Cook the mushrooms for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and tender.
- 5
Serve your mushrooms warm right out of the skillet.
💡 Tips
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in your fridge for up to 5 days. You can reheat them in the microwave or quickly warm them back up in a skillet. I do not recommend freezing this dish as the texture of the mushrooms will change.
