Whipped feta is a staple in my kitchen because it is so easy to make but always feels a little fancy. You just blend a few simple ingredients until they are light and fluffy, then serve it with warm pita bread or fresh vegetables.

My favorite trick is to use a good quality block of feta cheese rather than the pre crumbled kind. The block has more moisture and creates a much smoother texture when you process it.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 8 ounces block feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: honey, fresh thyme, or chili flakes

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Place the crumbled feta, Greek yogurt, olive oil, garlic, lemon zest, and lemon juice into a food processor.

  2. 2

Blend the mixture for about two to three minutes until it becomes completely smooth and creamy.

  3. 3

Taste the dip and add a pinch of black pepper if you like, though you likely will not need salt because the feta is quite salty on its own.

  4. 4

Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and use a spoon to create a small well in the top for any toppings.

  5. 5

Drizzle with a little extra olive oil and your choice of honey or herbs before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. This dip is wonderful served with warm toasted pita bread, sliced cucumbers, or crisp bell peppers.
