There is something so satisfying about a quick stir fry at the end of a busy day. This beef and broccoli dish is a staple in my kitchen because it comes together in minutes and uses ingredients I almost always have on hand.

My family loves how the sauce coats the tender beef and crisp broccoli just right. I usually serve this over a fluffy bed of brown rice to soak up all that extra flavor.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Cooked brown rice for serving

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Whisk the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in a small bowl to create the stir fry sauce.

  2. 2

Heat one tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium high heat.

  3. 3

Add the beef strips to the pan and cook until browned on all sides, then remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.

  4. 4

Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same pan and toss in the broccoli florets with a splash of water, covering the pan for two minutes to steam them until tender crisp.

  5. 5

Return the cooked beef to the pan and pour the sauce over the mixture.

  6. 6

Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for one or two minutes until the sauce has thickened and coats everything beautifully.

  7. 7

Serve immediately over warm brown rice.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. If you want a little extra heat, feel free to sprinkle some red pepper flakes over your bowl before serving.
