Cookie dough is one of those classic comfort foods that everyone reaches for with a spoon. This recipe turns that delicious dough into a fancy bark that you can break apart and snack on whenever you need a little pick me up.

My best tip for this recipe is to make sure your heat treated flour is completely cool before mixing it with the butter. This keeps your dough the perfect consistency so it spreads easily over the melted chocolate.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
  • 12 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips for melting
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake it at 350 degrees for 5 minutes to heat treat it for safety, then let it cool completely.

  2. 2

In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until smooth.

  3. 3

Mix in the vanilla extract, milk, and the cooled flour until a dough forms.

  4. 4

Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

  5. 5

Melt the semi sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil together in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.

  6. 6

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.

  7. 7

Drop small spoonfuls of the cookie dough over the melted chocolate and use a knife to gently swirl them into the chocolate.

  8. 8

Place the tray in the freezer for about 30 minutes until the bark is firm.

  9. 9

Break the bark into pieces and enjoy.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store your bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep it from getting too soft. If you want a little extra crunch, sprinkle some sea salt over the top before you freeze it.
