This salad is one of my favorite quick dinners because it hits all those classic cravings without needing a bun. It is crisp, savory, and brings that iconic burger taste right to your kitchen table.

The secret really is in the sauce. It comes together in just a minute and ties all the fresh veggies and seasoned beef together perfectly. I love to make a double batch of the dressing to keep in the fridge for other meals throughout the week.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup red onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until it is fully cooked through.

  2. 2

Season the beef with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper while it cooks, then drain the excess fat and set the meat aside to cool slightly.

  3. 3

Whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, sweet pickle relish, white vinegar, and paprika in a small bowl until the dressing is smooth.

  4. 4

Arrange the chopped lettuce in a large serving bowl or on individual plates.

  5. 5

Top the lettuce with the cooked beef, tomatoes, red onion, pickles, and shredded cheese.

  6. 6

Drizzle the homemade sauce over the top just before serving and toss everything together.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store the dressing in a separate airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. If you have leftovers, keep the salad ingredients and the dressing apart so the lettuce stays crunchy.
