There is something so special about making your own sauces from scratch. This cocktail sauce has that perfect balance of tangy tomato and sharp horseradish that makes fresh shrimp taste absolutely wonderful.

My favorite thing about this recipe is how quickly it comes together in just a few minutes. If you want a little extra heat, feel free to add an extra dash of hot sauce to suit your taste.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

In a small mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and black pepper.

  2. 2

Stir everything together until the ingredients are well blended.

  3. 3

Taste the sauce and add more horseradish or hot sauce if you prefer a spicier kick.

  4. 4

Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least thirty minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. This sauce is best served ice cold alongside boiled shrimp or fried fish.
