Seven layer bars are a classic kitchen staple for a reason. They are incredibly easy to pull together, and they pack so much flavor into every single bite. You get a perfect combination of chewy coconut, rich chocolate, and crunchy nuts all held together by a golden, buttery graham cracker crust.

My favorite thing about this recipe is how forgiving it is. If you find you have a little extra chocolate or coconut in the pantry, feel free to sprinkle it on top. These always disappear quickly whenever I bring them to a neighborhood potluck or bake sale.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 1/3 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  2. 2

Pour the melted butter into the pan and sprinkle the graham cracker crumbs over the top, then press them down firmly with a fork to form an even crust.

  3. 3

Layer the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips over the crust.

  4. 4

Sprinkle the shredded coconut evenly over the chips, followed by the chopped pecans.

  5. 5

Slowly drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the entire pan, trying to cover as much of the surface as possible.

  6. 6

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.

  7. 7

Let the bars cool completely in the pan before you slice them into squares.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store these bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days. If you want them to stay fresh longer, you can keep them in the fridge. For cleaner slices, let the bars cool in the refrigerator for an hour before you cut into them.
