There is something so special about tiny cookies. They are the perfect little treat when you want a bit of sweetness without committing to a full sized dessert, and they disappear from the cookie jar faster than I can bake them.

My grandkids absolutely love these because they are fun to snack on during a movie. A quick tip for the best results is to make sure your butter is softened to room temperature but not melted, as this keeps the cookies from spreading too much in the oven.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup mini semi sweet chocolate chips

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

  3. 3

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.

  4. 4

Beat in the egg and the vanilla extract until well combined.

  5. 5

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

  6. 6

Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

  7. 7

Scoop small, half teaspoon sized balls of dough and place them on your prepared baking sheet about an inch apart.

  8. 8

Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until the edges are just starting to turn golden brown.

  9. 9

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store these in an airtight container at room temperature for up to five days to keep them soft. If you want to save some for later, you can freeze the raw dough balls and bake them straight from frozen for an extra minute or two.
