There is nothing quite like fresh corn on the cob during the summer months. It is the quintessential side dish that brings back so many memories of backyard barbecues and family gatherings.

My secret to the best corn is to avoid overcooking it. You want the kernels to stay bright yellow and have that wonderful pop when you take a bite, so keep a close eye on your timer.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 4 ears of fresh corn, husked and silk removed
  • Water for the pot
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter for serving

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Fill a large pot with enough water to fully cover the ears of corn and bring it to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

Add the salt to the boiling water.

  3. 3

Carefully place the corn into the pot.

  4. 4

Return the water to a boil and cook for exactly five minutes.

  5. 5

Remove the corn immediately using tongs and serve while hot with plenty of butter.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

To store leftovers, cut the kernels off the cob and keep them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can also add a pinch of sugar to the boiling water if your corn is not quite as sweet as you would like.
