There is nothing quite like a big bowl of noodles tossed in a spicy garlic sauce. This is one of my favorite go to recipes because it uses simple pantry staples to create a meal that tastes like it came from a favorite takeout spot.

If you like a bit of extra texture, try tossing in some sliced green onions or toasted sesame seeds right before you serve. You can also adjust the chili heat up or down depending on how much spice your family enjoys.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 8 ounces dried wheat noodles or spaghetti
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Boil a large pot of water and cook your noodles according to the directions on the package.

  2. 2

While the noodles are cooking, whisk together the soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, sesame oil, and brown sugar in a small bowl.

  3. 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and add the minced garlic.

  4. 4

Cook the garlic for about one minute until it smells fragrant but do not let it brown.

  5. 5

Drain the cooked noodles and add them directly into the pan with the garlic.

  6. 6

Pour the sauce mixture over the noodles and toss everything together with tongs until the sauce coats every strand.

  7. 7

Serve warm and top with the sliced green onions.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

These noodles are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for two days. If the noodles look a little dry after reheating, just add a tiny splash of water or a drop of sesame oil to bring them back to life.
