Salmon is one of my favorite things to cook when I want something nutritious that still feels like a treat. This simple preparation lets the natural flavor of the fish shine through, and it comes together in no time at all.

My best advice is to keep a close eye on the oven as it cooks. Since salmon can go from perfect to overcooked in just a minute, taking it out when it flakes easily with a fork ensures the best texture every single time.

๐Ÿงบ Ingredients

  • 2 salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 lemon, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸณInstructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  3. 3

Drizzle the olive oil over the fish and rub it in to coat evenly.

  4. 4

In a small bowl, mix the oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then sprinkle the seasoning over the salmon.

  5. 5

Arrange the lemon slices on top of the fillets.

  6. 6

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

  7. 7

Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days. This salmon is excellent served cold over a bed of fresh greens for a quick lunch the next day.
