There is nothing quite like a warm dip to get a party started. This refried bean dip is a staple in my kitchen because it uses just a few pantry ingredients and tastes like you spent all afternoon in the kitchen.

My secret to making this extra special is to stir in a little extra lime juice right at the end. It brightens up the rich beans and makes the cheese flavor pop even more.

🧺 Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 ounces) refried beans
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • Tortilla chips for serving

πŸ‘©β€πŸ³Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

  2. 2

In a medium mixing bowl, combine the refried beans, sour cream, chili powder, cumin, and lime juice.

  3. 3

Stir the mixture until everything is smooth and well combined.

  4. 4

Transfer the bean mixture to a small baking dish and spread it out evenly.

  5. 5

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the beans.

  6. 6

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling.

  7. 7

Garnish with the chopped green onions before serving warm with plenty of crunchy tortilla chips.

πŸ’‘ Tips

You can keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. Just warm it up in the microwave for a minute or two when you are ready to snack again. For a spicy kick, try adding a few sliced jalapeΓ±os on top before baking.
